This is the preview for a documentary about Dr. Tod Mikuriya, who helped to write California’s Proposition 215 that made Medical Cannabis legal. He saw that cannabis helped a wide array of medical conditions and insisted that the physicians should decide who cannabis would help, as opposed to other states that had a limited list of conditions that cannabis could be recommended for. This attracted the attention of the Clinton administrations drug czar Barry McCaffrey and California Law Enforcement that generated a list of complaints against Dr. Mikuriya, eventually getting him fined and suspended by the Medical Board. This did not deter him from having one of the largest medical cannabis practices in California, and for-filling his lifelong dream that medical cannabis would become legal and would alleviate the suffering of the people without fear of legal prosecution.
